FOCUSINK — PRIVACY POLICY
Updated 25 October 2026

How FocusInk handles webpage content, annotations, settings, and your privacy choices.

01. INFORMATION HANDLED
What FocusInk works with

FocusInk processes the text you highlight, annotations or boxes you draw, notes you create, webpage URLs, and your extension preferences. Webpage content is used to position and restore annotations on the correct page.

02. WHY IT IS USED
Only for reading and annotations

This information supports highlighting, drawing, saving notes, finding saved content, and restoring annotations after a page refresh or browser restart. It is used for these features, not for advertising or user profiling.

03. STORAGE AND RETENTION
Stored in your browser

Highlights, notes, page references, and settings are saved using Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). Saved annotations remain available until you remove them or clear the corresponding browser storage. FocusInk does not upload saved annotations or browsing information to a developer server.

04. SHARING AND THIRD PARTIES
No sale or third-party sharing

FocusInk does not sell user information or share annotations with advertisers or other third parties. The data is not used for unrelated purposes.

05. BROWSER DATA AND PERMISSIONS
About the Chrome disclosure

The Chrome Web Store identifies website content and web history as handled data categories. FocusInk needs page text and URLs to associate highlights and notes with webpages; these categories do not mean your saved annotations are uploaded to the developer.

06. YOUR CHOICES
Review or remove saved content

You can delete annotations using the extension's controls, and you can clear the extension's local data through Chrome. Removing local data may also remove saved highlights and notes.

07. UPDATES AND QUESTIONS
Policy updates and contact

This policy may change if FocusInk features or data handling change. Questions about privacy can be sent to dmlabs.dev@outlook.com.
